Dr. Yvo Boers has been employed at THALES Nederland B.V. in Hengelo, the Netherlands, since 1999. Currently he is the program leader for a multitude of studies in the wider field of signal and data processing for detection, tracking, classification, sensor control and fusion. Yvo also actively conducts both application-oriented research as well as more fundamental research in these fields. Starting 2008 Yvo is also an NWO-Casimir fellow in the Stochastic Systems and Signals Group at the Applied Mathematics department of the University of Twente. Yvo has served and serves as a member on a number of different international advisory and programming committees and forums for organizations such as IEEE, IEE, ISIF, NATO, EURASIP and IFAC. Furthermore, he has (co)organized and (co)chaired different conferences, symposia and tutorial activities for these organizations. He also performs editorial and reviewing activities for different scientific journals. He has also edited several special issues for journals on the topic of track-before-detect. Yvo is the author of over 20 journal papers and 50 refereed conference papers. Yvo has also given numerous invited and plenary talks at conferences and symposia. He has also taught several courses and tutorials in universities, research institutions, companies and conferences on an invitational basis. In MC IMPULSE Yvo is the scientific director as well as the (co)supervisor of several fellows.
