Pranab Kumar Mandal is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente.  He received the masters degree in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, and the PhD degree in Statistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  The dissertation topic was Nonlinear Filtering.  After his PhD he held a visiting position at the Michigan State University (USA) and a postdoctoral reseracher position at EURANDOM, a research institute situated at the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.  His main research interest is nonlinear filtering and its applications, in particular Particle Filtering with applications to Signal Processing and Financial Mathematics.
