Project: Sensor and map assistance for search and rescue teams.
Katerina Tzavella is a Marie Curie Research Fellow with the Sensor Data and Information Fusion Department, Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE), since March of 2011. Her bachelor studies are on Marine Sciences and took place in the University of Aegean, Lesvos Island, Greece, till September of 2007. She received the M.Sc. degree on Applied Geoinformatics in Environmental and Risk Management, from the Department of Geography of University of Aegean, Lesvos Island, Greece, in 2009. Her work is focused on G.I.S – based track evaluation and in general on extraction of geographic features from tracking results, improved tracking using geographic features and fusion of tracking and geographic/topographic information.
